Mary Kay Samouce, designer and creator of ADORN by Samouce vintage statement jewelry, handcrafts each piece integrating authentic antique and vintage jewelry finds, breathing new life and a contemporary edge in to each one-of-a-kind treasure. Elements are deconstructed and presented in new unexpected compositions celebrating the historic craftsmanship of the past from the Georgian period of the 1700s, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco to vintage jewelry from the 50s through the 1970s. Unique antique salvage finds such as old hardware, keys, military badges, compasses, chandelier crystals, and liquor decanter labels are transformed into extraordinary works of wearable art and fantastic statement pieces like none other. Always on the hunt for unique pieces to create her designs, Mary Kay searches far and wide antiquing across the U.S. and buying excursions to London, Paris and Italy.
Mary Kay brings her many years of experience as a theatrical set designer and a love for historic period research to her dramatic, distinct jewelry designs. A graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts – NYU, with a Masters of Fine Arts and receiving a NEA-TCG (National Endowment for the Arts ~ Theatre Communication Group design development grant) with studies in Prague, NYC and Los Angeles. Mary Kay art directed the 2002 Oscar winning documentary short “THOTH”, assisted on Broadway, international productions and corporate event planning and design in NYC, including roller coaster queue concept design and construction for Six Flags amusement parks in Texas and New Jersey. Other artistic accomplishments include working in the fashion industry, designing sunglasses, accessories and displays for retail distribution and marketing display design for the Mattel Toy Fair, and Neiman Marcus. Mary Kay shares an esthetic heavily influenced by the outstanding people and places that have encouraged her unique creativity.

Additionally, Mary Kay hosts jewelry parties and home shows to exhibit her original designs and explore the endless possibilities of creating new designs with pieces ladies bring along with them.
